Welcome to Smoke Eater Gear. These Terms & Conditions explain the rules for using our website, placing orders, purchasing products, and interacting with Smoke Eater Gear.
By using this website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About Smoke Eater Gear
Smoke Eater Gear sells boot laces and related accessories designed for firefighters, first responders, workers, tradesmen, outdoor users, and anyone who expects more from their gear.
Our products are built for durability, function, and real-world use. They are not sold as personal protective equipment, life-safety equipment, or a substitute for properly rated fire, rescue, industrial, or workplace gear.
2. Website Use
You agree to use this website only for lawful purposes.
You may not use the website to:
- Commit fraud
- Interfere with website security
- Submit false order information
- Misuse discount programs
- Attempt unauthorized access
- Copy website content for commercial use without permission
- Misrepresent Smoke Eater Gear products, images, descriptions, or branding
Smoke Eater Gear may refuse service, cancel orders, or restrict access when misuse, fraud, abuse, or suspicious activity is detected.
3. Product Information
We work to describe and display products as accurately as possible. Product photos, descriptions, colors, lengths, aglet options, and availability may be updated from time to time.
Actual colors may vary slightly due to screen settings, lighting, photography, device displays, manufacturing variation, or material differences.
Customers are responsible for selecting the correct product line, color, length, and aglet option before placing an order.
4. Product Use and Customer Responsibility
Smoke Eater Gear laces are built for demanding use, but no lace is indestructible.
Customers are responsible for inspecting laces regularly and replacing them when they show signs of wear, damage, contamination, heat exposure, chemical exposure, abrasion, cuts, melting, fraying, or reduced performance.
Do not continue using damaged laces.
Smoke Eater Gear products are not designed or certified as personal protective equipment. Product descriptions should not be interpreted as a guarantee of protection against fire, injury, workplace hazards, chemical exposure, extreme heat, electrical hazards, or other dangerous conditions.
Use the right gear for the job. That is not legal poetry. That is common sense.
5. Orders
When you place an order, you agree that the information provided is accurate, current, and complete.
Smoke Eater Gear may cancel or refuse an order for reasons including:
- Incorrect customer information
- Payment failure
- Suspected fraud
- Product unavailability
- Pricing or listing errors
- Shipping restrictions
- Abuse of discounts or promotions
- Any other issue that prevents proper fulfillment
If an order is canceled after payment, Smoke Eater Gear will issue a refund to the original payment method unless another arrangement is required.
6. Custom Lengths and Product Options
Some products may be offered in custom lengths or customer-selected configurations.
Custom-length orders, special configurations, and made-to-order items may not be eligible for cancellation, return, or exchange once production has started, unless the product is defective or Smoke Eater Gear made an error.
Customers should measure carefully before ordering.
7. Pricing and Availability
Prices and availability may change without notice.
Smoke Eater Gear reserves the right to correct pricing, product listing, inventory, or checkout errors. If an error affects an order, we may contact the customer, cancel the order, or issue a refund.
Advertising and product claims must be truthful, not deceptive, and supported by evidence. Smoke Eater Gear intends to keep product descriptions straightforward and accurate, not dressed up in marketing nonsense that falls apart on contact. The FTC emphasizes that advertising claims must be truthful, not unfair or deceptive, and evidence-based.
8. Payment
Payment is due at checkout.
Payments may be processed through third-party payment providers connected to the Smoke Eater Gear website. Smoke Eater Gear does not store full credit card numbers on the website.
Orders are not considered accepted until payment is authorized and the order is confirmed.
9. Discounts and Promotions
Discounts, coupon codes, bundles, and promotional offers may be limited by product, customer group, date, quantity, or other conditions.
Smoke Eater Gear may modify, suspend, or end promotions at any time.
First responder discounts, when offered, are intended for eligible customers only. Misuse of discount programs may result in order cancellation or loss of discount eligibility.
Discounts may not apply to all product lines, custom orders, bundles, shipping charges, taxes, or excluded items unless specifically stated.
10. Shipping
Shipping times are estimates unless specifically stated otherwise.
Smoke Eater Gear will make reasonable efforts to ship orders within the stated processing time. Under the FTC’s Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, sellers must have a reasonable basis for advertised shipping times. If no shipping time is stated, the seller must generally have a reasonable basis to ship within 30 days. If shipment cannot occur within the promised time, the seller must seek the buyer’s consent to the delay or issue a refund.
Smoke Eater Gear is not responsible for carrier delays, weather delays, incorrect addresses provided by customers, package theft after delivery, or delivery issues outside our control.
Customers are responsible for entering a complete and accurate shipping address.
11. Returns, Exchanges, and Guarantee Claims
Returns, exchanges, and guarantee claims are governed by the Smoke Eater Gear return and guarantee policies.
Those policies may include product condition requirements, proof of purchase requirements, inspection requirements, replacement limits, or exclusions for misuse, abuse, contamination, improper use, or normal wear outside the stated guarantee.
The Lifetime Guarantee page should be reviewed before submitting a claim.
12. Damage, Defects, or Order Problems
If an order arrives damaged, incorrect, incomplete, or defective, contact Smoke Eater Gear as soon as possible.
Include the order number, a description of the issue, and photos when helpful.
Smoke Eater Gear may replace, refund, or otherwise resolve the issue depending on the circumstances.
